Thomas J Wiseman
- 2nd Lieutenant
Thomas J. was born in Yancey County NC, present day Mitchell County. He was the son of Josiah and Sarah Wiseman. Nephew of James H and MD Wiseman that also served in the Civil War along with many other Uncles and cousins. Born in 1835. Joined the Confederate army June 28, 1862. Was assigned to Co. K 65th NC Infantry as a Cavalry 2nd Lt. Received a Saber wound at Sweetwater Tennessee. Shot in the hand at Gettysburg. Horse shot from under him during one battle. Thomas survived the war, returned home and raised a large family.
